Hello, everyone! I hope it’s sunny and dry in your neck of the woods because it’s been a rainy week here and I. AM. OVER. IT. I just looked at the extended forecast and there is no relief in sight. We are lucky in that we don’t live in a flood zone, but I know there are people who are dealing with flooding right now and they are in my thoughts and prayers.
I just wanted to check in and give you an update on how things are going. Guys, I am three weeks into this no alcohol experiment and I am doing it! David and I went to a brewery on Friday night for dinner and I had water to drink and was completely okay with that! I didn’t leave the restaurant feeling bloated and buzzed, which is usually how I leave a brewery. BUT – afterwards we went grocery shopping and a couple of local breweries and wineries had sample stations set up and I did have a couple of samples (very small, just a sip to taste.) I didn’t feel like I was breaking any of my rules, though.
However, I want to be completely candid with you and tell you that yesterday was just not a good day for me. I know a lot of it is weather-related. I thrive on fresh air and sunshine and I haven’t had either of those things in about a week. Also, I’m not one of those people who are celebrating the induction of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. In fact, I’m quite angry, but I’m not going to go into politics in this post. Suffice to say that I’m happy there was no wine in the house because I really, really wanted some. So instead, I ate junk and felt like crap. Dammit.
Today is a new day, though, and I’m trying to have a better outlook, although this freaking rain isn’t helping. I plan on doing some PiYO this morning (I’ll save a report on how that’s going for another post) and then later this afternoon, I’m walking in the local Run for the Schools 5k. That won’t be much fun in the rain, but at least I’ll be getting outside and moving.
