It’s been a while since I’ve written a post. Life has been really busy since the holidays. I thought that things would slow down, but nope. Busy is good, though; it keeps my mind occupied during these winter months. The last couple of weekends we’ve had snow, ice, and frigid temperatures, so it’s good to stay busy and not focus on how much the weather sucks.
As I wrote in another post, I’m working on more positive self-talk. I’m my own worst critic and I’m working on being my #1 cheerleader instead.
As a Beachbody coach, one of the things that I have to do is share the wonderful progress and results I’m getting from the workouts and products. I can talk all day, but people like to see photos and fun videos. I know that I like to see that kind of stuff from other people. Every day I see other Beachbody community members share photos and videos of their workouts. People of all ages, shapes, and sizes – it’s so inspiring!
So this year, in addition to sharing more photos of myself, my goal is to do more videos of my workouts. This will be a new skill for me and I’m sure the video quality won’t be that great at first, but like everything else, I need to just practice in order to get better.
What has kept me from doing this sooner? Lack of self-confidence, I think. The negative voice inside my head said I wasn’t fit enough, or pretty enough, or photogenic enough. Would I think this about anyone else? Of course not! So why on earth do I think this about me? This morning I decided that I would just go for it and film while I was working out. Here is a short video:
Here’s what you’ll see in my video: the real me. Since I work out first thing in the morning, my hair is a mess, I’m not wearing makeup, and my workout clothes might not always match. What you see is what you get.
I’d like to learn enough video editing skills to keep the videos short, add some fun special effects and music. I also plan on sharing some videos where I’m not always able to master the moves (which is often!) and there will be a lot of interruptions by the dogs, who seem to feel that I need moral support when I do my workouts.
I’m going to keep it real. Maybe real enough that no one will want to watch – ha! But I promised myself when I became a blogger, and then a Beachbody coach, that I would keep it real and honest.
Before I sign off, I just wanted to share how things are going with my LIIFT4 and Morning Meltdown 100 hybrid program. I’ve completed two weeks and things are going well! I was worried that it might be too much, but so far, so good! I’m not going to lie, my arms were really sore the first week, but the second week the soreness improved. I also decided to try on a pair of tights that were hidden at the bottom of my drawer; they were too small, but instead of getting rid of them, I just tucked them away. Thanks to my hard work, they now fit!
Going outside my comfort zone is scary, but I’m telling myself that I can do it! Or at the very least, I have to at least give it a try!
