Blogging goals

Today I was actually thinking about quitting this blog. I was actually looking at the instructions for how to cancel my domain name and then I started feeling a bit sad and thought, nah. Let’s re-think this.

Originally when I started my blog, I focused on running journey and my vegan diet because that’s what I was doing at the time. And then my youngest daughter got cancer and so I blogged about her cancer journey just to keep our loved ones up to date on what was going on. The blog became my public journal.

Then I took a long break from blogging after the cancer stuff was over. I realized I missed writing and decided to give the blog a new look and that I would focus on life in my 50’s. Since then, I’ve mainly focused on my health and workouts. I also write about what’s going on in my life. Again, this blog has been like keeping a journal, only it’s available to the public eye.

Sometimes I go weeks without writing. Sometimes I can’t think of a single thing I want to write about. Sometimes I have lots of ideas for writing topics, but then I get busy with life and my blogging takes a back seat to everything else.

I feel like I’m at a crossroads and I need to decide to either commit to writing these blog posts or just move on to other things. And if I do decide to keep blogging, I need to commit to doing it more often because what’s the point in just doing in every once in a while? There’s nothing more disappointing than following a blogger who doesn’t post anything, am I right?

Here’s where I need your help, dear readers. What is it about my blog that you enjoy? What do you want me to focus on? My workouts? My dogs? My diet? What I’m reading? The fun (and not so fun) adventures of aging? All of it?

In the meantime, I’m going to work on a format and schedule so that I can give the love and attention I think this blog deserves. Here are some weekly posts I’m thinking about doing:

  1. Hi Tammy, I love all your blog posts! I really enjoy reading about your workouts, reading, healthy eating, and life in general. I think that’s what I am drawn to most in bloggers. If I don’t get to know the blogger and all they do is post on one or two topics, I lose interest quickly. It doesn’t bother me at all the frequency of posts. Best wishes always!
