Reading List 4-13-21

Reading is such a big part of my life and I’m sorry that I haven’t blogged about it more often. I’ve always been a voracious reader, ever since I learned how to read and I can still remember getting my first library card and bringing home a stack of books. I would sit in my room for hours and read. Reading is still one of my favorite things to do. I love all genres, but my favorites are contemporary fiction and horror.

I love to hear what others are reading, so I figured that maybe there are people out there who want to hear what I’m reading as well. So here you go:

I just finished this one:

Too Good To Be True is a psychological thriller with lots of twists and turns and I don’t normally tell my husband about what I’m reading, but this book was so crazy in spots that I had to stop reading just to fill him in on what was going on! At first I wasn’t sure I was going to like the book. The characters started off very unlikeable, but I had to keep reading just so I could find out how things were going to pan out. I’m glad that I decided to stick with it because the story pulled me in and it was a hard book to put down. Out of 5 stars, I give it 4 and that’s only because the ending pissed me off a little bit.

I just started this one:

Our book club chose This Close to Okay for our April discussion. I’m only a chapter in, so I don’t have any thoughts so far, but the story synopsis on the book jacket sounds very intriguing! Stay tuned!

I’ve also been reading this one:

I’ve had this book sitting on the shelf for years and decided to dust it off and give it a read. It’s been a slow read; the book is well written and interesting, but I’ve been reading it in bite-size pieces, so it’s taking a while to get through it. It usually takes me longer to get through non-fiction books. I’d rather be immersed in a good fiction story, but I think it’s good for my brain to learn some things, too, so I always have a non-fiction book on my reading pile.

This one is in my to-read pile:

I’m not a huge fan of the romance genre, but last year I read Beach Read by this author and it was one of my favorite books of 2020. I highly recommend it. When I saw that the author had a new book out, I immediately ordered it.

That’s what I’m reading this week. What’s on your reading list right now?

May your glass always be full,

Tammy
